PLACE is delighted to launch its scholarship program. We invite anyone working or volunteering in place‑based work who meets the eligibility criteria to apply.
PLACE’s scholarship program addresses barriers to accessing quality training for place-based work – including location, cost, time commitment, and assumed skills – allowing practitioners to complete training and increase their capability for systems change. Please see the list of eligible scholarship training below.
How do I apply?
- Enrol and compete the course within the next 6-12 months
- Look through the below list of approved training courses and choose which you would like to do
- Tell us a bit more about yourself and the place-based initiative you work/volunteer for
- Describe the impact this training could have in your community
- If the training you choose is only delivered face-to-face, we will also fund your travel
PLACE will assess applications on the following criteria:
- Your work focuses on improving outcomes for communities that face barriers due to things like location, culture, disability, financial disadvantage, or access to services
- Demonstrated ability to apply community-led, place-based approaches in your work
- We will prioritise applications from the following sectors: early childhood, youth justice, employment, housing, health, human services and net zero transitions.
If you are successful in your application:
- You will receive a letter of acceptance from PLACE
- PLACE will confirm your place with the training provider
- PLACE will arrange payment directly with the provider
- You can begin training once enrolment is confirmed
- You join a Scholarships Peer Group to connect with other scholars
