PLACE was delighted to launch its inaugural scholarship program in May 2026. We received 82 applications from place-based practitioners who are from all over Australia – including regional and remote locations – and working across a diversity of sectors.
The scholarship program addresses barriers to access, allowing practitioners to acquire the diverse skills required for place-based and systems change work.
The inaugural scholarship recipients are connected via a Peer Learning Network facilitated by PLACExCHANGE, PLACE’s digital learning and community platform. In the networks, practitioners can share expertise, learning and resources to strengthen practice.
In total, we awarded 60 scholarships that enabled training across a range of topics:
