PLACE’s new and free online learning and community platform.

In place-based work, so much of what we know lives in people, in relationships, in programs, and in communities. That deep knowledge is one of the great strengths of this work, and is delivering real impact to people’s lives in their communities 

PLACExCHANGE is an expression of that: a shared digital space designed around how people learn best – through trial, trust, through doing the work together, and sharing the knowledge and experiences that create impact in communities every day.

What to expect?

• Foundations for working in place: an entry-point course for anyone new to place-based practice, or who wants to ground their thinking and practice in it. 

• Shared decision-making – An interactive guide: an interactive practice-focussed guide, filled with real-world examples and practical tools, for teams and networks navigating collective decisions. 

• Oral history project – Voices of place-based change: PLACE’s oral history project surfacing real stories and lived experience from people who have shaped the past and present achievements of place-based practice. Plus, an open invitation for people to add their own place-based stories. 

• A home for impact and learning networks: an online space for networks to connect and share. 

• Place-based Impact Summit: session presentations, recordings and resources from the 2026 Impact Summit.

This is just the beginning. PLACExCHANGE is a live space that will be updated with new resources, learning content and opportunities to engage with place-based practitioners from around the country.
