PiP March session: Community-governed structures
This month we’re focusing on how community voice can be strengthened within place-based governance so that local people can shape decisions and achieve better outcomes.
Join us for a conversation with Andrew Davitt, Director of Collaborative Solutions, alongside breakout discussions with participants. Together, we’ll explore how community-governed structures are emerging across Australia and what it takes to support them in practice.
What to expect:
- Practical insights on what community-governed approaches require
- Hear from the PLACE team working to strengthen community voice in decision-making systems
- The opportunity to share your experience with others working in place-based contexts
Registrations are open now.
PiP February Session
How do we recognise, respect and genuinely value local knowledge in place‑based work?
Building on feedback from Session 1, this PiP session explored what valuing local knowledge and context looks like in practice. We shared and compared different place‑based approaches, focusing on how community expertise is being centred to shape decisions and solutions.
Rewatch the conversation to hear practical lessons on how to support communities to lead with their knowledge.
PiP January Session
Our first session was hosted by Eve Millar Director, Data, Evidence and Practice with the PLACE team. We were joined by over 160 people from across Australia to deep dive into The 12 Elements - PLACE’s framework for place-based change.
If you missed out or would like to revisit the session, you can view the recording below.
